IP Source on WestlaweCARSWELL

I only just noticed now that WestlaweCARSWELL has added “IP Source” as one of its “modules” – perhaps it has been there for awhile but I only noticed it now (by default, the system only appears to accept a maximum of 6 tabs and adding IP Source to existing tabs results in 7 tabs, so you would need to drop one of your other tabs).

I don’t want to seem too “promotional” here but the IP Source looks interesting for IP practitioners/researchers and includes a number of Carswell-authored IP texts, including those by Fox/McKeown, Joliffe and Dimock, in addition to the other standard type information in the modules. 1. It is being officially launched this Friday, October 28, 2005 with a featured talk by IP Source contributor, lawyer and author Ronald E. Dimock. Carswell sent out invitations to IP practitioners and selected others. Contact your WeC sales rep if you are interested in attending.

This product is significant to the Canadian legal publishing landscape because it is being created by a joint effort between Thomson Carswell and Canada Law Book, who are providing the Canadian Patent Reports content. This relationship was unveiled at CALL 2005 in May.

  2. Thanks Connie – I guess I was left out of the loop since I did not attend CALL and since the vendors sometimes, quite naturally, focus marketing on the law firms.

  3. On the other hand, you are very observant and found it immediately! 8-)

I was trying to find a press release or something of the sort under their “Events” section that would mention it. Oddly enough, it wasn’t to be found. I guess they were afraid of the crush of people who would show up?

  4. The report back from my coworker was that the IP Source launch today was worthwhile. Ronald Dimock was particularly interesting. Too bad I was tied up with another meeting at the time.
