International Human Rights Resources

Here are three sites dealing with international human rights that have recently come to my attention (thanks to Lo-Fi Librarian, Law Librarian Blog, and a third source that’s slipped off my screen).

  1. U.K.’s Department for Constitutional Affairs hosts a site on Human Rights and a page of links to useful documents respecting international human rights, where currently you’ll find reports from the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, among other things.
  2. Human Rights Watch has released a book entitled “Genocide, War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity: A Topical Digest of the Case Law of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.” It’s available for download in pdf format (861 pp. / 2.7 MB).

  3. Human Rights Tools is a new site that aims to provide easy and clear access to the resources available on the internet. The site is regularly updated and offers an email newsletter.

  1. Ha, Simon, I’m working on an Intl’ HR research guide and those sites are such good sources for me to include. Thanks!

  2. We’re always glad to help. Perhaps you’ll let us post a copy of your guide when you’re finished.
