Facebook Hacked: Change Your Password to Protect Yourself

CBC is reporting that Facebook was hacked again. While it doesn’t look like huge numbers of accounts were compromised, it is worth changing your password to protect yourself.

  1. To be honest, there are reports all the time from people like CBS claiming facebook has been hacked. You have to remember that Facebook has over 800million users so hack attempts are always going to be common, but usually on very low levels and nothing to do with the Facebook platform itself – which has proven to be very secure. Most hack attempts are made by phishing and social engineering. Just a quick google search shows sites like http://www.hack-facebook-account.com offering hack tools, but it’s best to stay away from them as most steal your passwords themselves. Regular passwords changes are always recommended though or use complex passwords and then a tool like LastPass http://www.lastpass.com.
