About Omar Ha-Redeye

Omar Ha-Redeye is a Toronto lawyer and applied legal academic. He holds an LLM in Health Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, with coursework in Advanced Trial Advocacy.

Omar has a background in civil litigation, and operates out of Fleet Street Law, an incubator in Toronto for new and young law firms. He teaches law at Ryerson University, George Brown College, Seneca College and Centennial College.

Omar is actively involved in the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and the Ontario Bar Association (OBA). He has sat on the OBA Board of Directors, and maintains a seat on Council for several consecutive years. He sits on the Editorial Board of the CBA's National Magazine, and is frequently interviewed by the media on legal issues.

Omar was named in 2011 one of the top 12 social media influencers practicing law in Canada. In 2012, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for promoting access to justice and advocacy on behalf of marginalized and discriminated populations. In 2015, he was awarded the OBA Foundation Award for exceptional contributions to improving the justice system and public legal education. In 2017, Omar received the Ted Rogers School of Management Teaching Award for Contract Lecturers at Ryerson University.
