The Linked Data Platform: Upcoming Webinar

The Linked Data Platform (LPD) is a thing now. It was recently given “Candidate Recommendation” status by the W3C. That means that it has moved up from a “Working Draft” (mentioned in an earlier post) and the developers are satisfied that the standard does what is meant to do.

And what it is meant to do is this:

Provide a set of best practices and a simple approach for a read-write Linked Data architecture, based on HTTP access to web resources that describe their state using the RDF data model.

The LPD is described in the W3C Candidate Recommendation and if you want to follow the development there’s a public LPD discussion group.

Anyone interested in learning more about the LPD should check out this upcoming webinar called, “Getting Started with the Linked Data Platform.” It looks like it’s oriented toward a business implementation of the LPD, but I’m hoping it will also provide a good overview of what it is and how it might be used in linked data projects going forward.

The webinar takes place August 11th at 2:00pm; it’s free and you can register here.
