The Friday Fillip

It’s getting on for summer and the will to be serious drains away pretty fast on Friday afternoons now. So this week it’s pure escapism that I espouse.

cube game

Try your hand at this online game, done in Flash. Though it’s called 3-D Logic, there’s little about it that uses the sort of logic we use in our workaday world.

I’m told that things get tough around level 16, though I can’t report that from my own experience, having only got to level… Well, never mind.

  1. I’m so glad you do this Friday Fillip, Simon! I email the links to myself at home and look forward to checking them out over the weekend. All work and no play might make librarians dull, after all!

  2. I found that game to be a lot of fun, challenging my sense of spacial relations. Thank you for pointing it out. Levels 13 and 14 were somewhat challenging, and 16 was the first time I experienced being “stuck” for a while. I found the odd one to be easy as I went further into it, and then one would really stump be for a while.

Wasn’t there a theory at one time that women were better at Tetris than men? I’m wondering if the same would hold true for this game, for similar reasons?
