- the broad cultural trends affecting libraries
- multi- or interdisciplinary perspectives on the everyday contexts of libraries affecting their collections, services, budgets, user groups, external relations etc.

If I lived in Ontario, I’d probably attend this. The biggest reason? Gloria Leckie — by far my favourite instructor from Western. Probably the best ‘teacher’ I’ve taken a University course with. She had (and probably still has) an amazing ability to simplify issues, and then layer them together to explain complex relationships.
The next time UWO moves someone in that faculty to full Prof. status, I hope her name comes up. Every UWO alumni I keep in touch with feels the same. She’s one of the tie-breakers on whether I’d recommend someone attend Library School at Western.
