Search Engine Origins

“Scott E” over at Library House‘s Venture Blog (which has nothing to do with libraries, really) has researched the location of Read/Write Web’s “Top 100 Alternative Search Engines.” For what it’s worth, four are located in Canada:

Although, the article doesn’t say which search engines are located in the various places.

  1. Hi Simon – I’m planning on posting a full spreadsheet of which engines appeared in which places. I was hoping to get some feedback on the last six which I couldn’t identify by posting them in the comment on the R/W web post. If you know anything about fybersearch.com, gnosh.org, mrquery.com, pipl.com, sidekiq.com, or planetsearch.com do let me know.
