This made my day. Apparently, ragtimer Frederick Hodges is the musician playing the ragtime accompanying the film, according to this blog post. And according to a good source on the Elite Syncopations Yahoo Group, Frederick is playing a variation of “Funny Folk: March and Two Step” by WC Powell (1904).
I can highly recommend Frederick’s CD-ROMs. Check out his YouTube pages here. His version of “Yes Yes” here is hilarious (only one word rhymes with Niagara!).

Frederick was kind enough to help support my George Cobb page, providing the sheet music for my site to the extremely rare Buffalo Means Business Rag.
