About Heather Martin

Heather Martin is the Copyright Officer for the University of Guelph, where she also manages the library’s Course Material & Reserves service. In this role, she provides education and support to the university community in the use of copyrighted works for teaching, learning and research. She has been a regular contributor to copyright education and advocacy efforts at both the national and provincial levels, as a member of the Ontario Library Association copyright committee, the former Canadian Library Association (CLA) Copyright Committee, and several Canadian Association of Research Library (CARL) copyright working groups. Other areas of focus have included advocating for equitable course material access for students, promoting the use of open educational resources, and documenting the history of post-secondary copyright policies and practices in Canada.
