CCCA National Conference – April 6-8, 2014 in Calgary
The next Canadian Corporate Counsel Association National Conference will be taking place in Calgary from April 6 to 8th. The conference theme this year is “Energy matters” explained below (from the website):
ENERGY MATTERS
Energy as resource, as catalyst, as inspiration. The energy of in-house counsel, ignited.
The Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) is the official voice and forum of Canada’s in-house counsel community; a community that is passionate, energetic, and always evolving.
Join us at The Westin Calgary in Calgary, April 6-8, 2014 for our National Conference, the largest gathering of in-house counsel in Canada. Featuring a program targeted exclusively to in-house counsel needs and attracting a vast cross-section of experience and sectors of the Canadian in-house community, you’ll find yourself at the center of an essential conversation about the profession.
Our conference theme, Energy Matters, is not only a nod to our host city, Calgary, but also symbolic of the passion and enthusiasm (both professional and personal) demonstrated by our members as well as the growth and influence of the in-house profession in Canada and around the world.
Keynote speakers scheduled are:
- Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin,
- Jim Leech, Retired President and CEO of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Chancellor-designate, Queen’s University
- Jacquie McNish, Senior Writer for the Globe and Mail and Adjunct Professor, Osgoode Hall Law School
I had a nice note from Hannah Bernstein letting me know that these sessions (workshops) in particular are proving popular with attendees:
– 102: Fuelling Efficiency: Bringing Lean Six Sigma into Legal Services
– 203: Resource and Energy Projects: Assessing, Managing and Mitigating Risk
– 303: A Guiding Light: The Role of Corporate Counsel in Governance, Risk and Compliance
– 403: Powered by Privilege: Protecting Communications with Counsel
Note that theme worked into the titles.
Cheers.
