These Four Skills Not Just for Programmers

I’m a fan of Life Hacker and as a programmer wannabe this post, “What It Really Takes to Be a Professional Programmer,” captured my attention. Tori Reid canvassed some professional coders and other Life Hacker readers and found these were the four important skills that contribute to successful programmer careers:

  • learn to communicate
  • brush up on your problem-solving skills
  • start learning version control right away
  • develop a knack for learning

There are a number of additional links peppered throughout this post that expand on these fundamental skills.

A valuable skill set for anyone interested in developing their career and an especially important set of attributes to cultivate as we adapt to living life in the current technological environment.
