Statute Law Database Goes Live!

It is with great pleasure that I can finally write to let you know that this monumental project has gone live before Christmas, as was indicated some months back. It is still hard to believe – but here is the proof! And as promised, it is free of charge.

Best wishes to all Slawyers for the festive season….

  1. I am a lawyer in Scotland and tested the system last night. I have found a number of inaccuracies in relation to Scottish material. Statutes repealed over a decade ago still on the database. Statutes passed in the past few years not yet amended despite being in force for some time. I posted some thoughts at my livejournal at http://loveandgarbage.livejournal.com/83885.html .

A great initiative, but the information is not particularly reliable.

  2. This is one of the benefits we have on this side of the pond because of the statute consolidation process. It’s a nightmare stitching British or Scots statutes together, and why one relies so heavily on Halsbury’s Statutes.
From all of us at Slaw, Scott, have a Blithe Yule and a Guid Hogmanay.
