New IP Group of Columnists on Slaw

Slaw is proud to announce the institution of a new group of columnists who will write on the topic of intellectual property. The IP group joins the eight groups currently writing on specific topics.

The IP group includes:

Paula BremnerSim, Lowman, Ashton & Mckay LLP – Paula specializes in pharmaceutical patent litigation and also has significant experience in trade-mark opposition matters.

Lorraine FleckHoffer Adler LLP – Lorraine is a lawyer and registered trade-mark agent and she founded and maintains her own blog, IP Address Blog which publishes Canadian intellectual property and technology law news and commentary.

Ariel Katz – Ariel is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, where he holds the Innovation Chair in Electronic Commerce and the Directorship of the Centre for Innovation Law and Policy. He blogs about intellectual property law on his eponymous website.

Howard KnopfMacera & Jarzyna LLP – Howard practises mainly in the areas of copyright, trade-marks, cyberlaw, and related issues. He is the Chairman of the Copyright Policy Committee of the Canadian Bar Association and has blogged for many years on his Excess Copyright.

Martin KratzBennett Jones LLP – Martin leads the intellectual property practice for Bennett Jones. His practice is focused around intellectual property and technology law; he is the author of many publications including the recent Canadian Intellectual Property Law, 2nd Ed.

Alan MacekDimock Stratton LLP – Alan practices in the areas of intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution, focusing in electrical and computer related technology, and publishes intellectual property news at IPPractice.ca.
