New Zealand High Court Decisions Online

Graham Greenleaf of AustLII writes:

Dear Law Librarians,

A significant new development on the New Zealand Legal Information Institute (NZLII) is the inclusion of decisions of the High Court of New Zealand – see http://www.nzlii.org/nz/cases/NZHC/.

The database contains 1462 decisions from 2005 and 2006. Some features of the database are:
* Decisions are available in both HTML text and PDF;
* Decisions can be browsed alphabetically or by year/month, as well as searched (with search terms displayed in their context);
* Search results are ranked by relevance (default) but can also be sorted by reverse chronological order;
* A usable citation is provided for each decision in the vendor/medium neutral style eg [2006] NZHC 922

Further enhancements are being developed including hypertext links to other decisions and a ‘Noteup’ facility for each decision.

If you have not looked at NZLII recently, it now has 15 databases including 10 Courts and Tribunals (from the Supreme Court down), four law journals and law reform reports. Donna Buckingham of Otago Law Faculty is the Director of NZLII. AustLII is assisting in the development of NZLII.
