Quicklaw Enhancements Announced
Heads up. No, it isn’t a soccer ball flying into your yard from the over zealous kick of spring fever infected neighbourhood children. It is a news release about some enhancements to Quicklaw. There are even screen shots of the new look.
The new Quicklaw functions are designed to follow your workflow and eliminate screen clutter:
- Set your own Start Page with the streamlined global navigation toolbar
- Speed up your research with sharper buttons and icons, highly readable fonts, and an inviting colour palette
- Consistently locate Related Links, General Search screens, and the What’s New icon (available soon) on the left-hand side of the screen
- Fine-tune your research with more compact Search Forms
- Filter Search Results from a user-friendly menu tree instead of clicking multiple pages
- Use the new Document Options box and Show/Hide feature, located in the View drop-down menu, to toggle quickly between document view, full documents, and related documents
- Locate sources with the highly visible Find a Source box and Selected Sources tray within the Source Directory
Kudos to the folks at Quicklaw for giving ample lead time to their customers who are likely in the process of reviewing in house training materials to prepare to the summer students. Thanks also for having this RSS feed http://www.lexisnexis.ca/updates/whatsnewql.xml for changes to the service.
These changes will take place the week of April 28, 2009.
It was just gently pointed out to me that this news release must have zoomed into my recent RSS feeds inadvertently as the update was from 2008 NOT 2009.
