Scavenger Hunt Ends With Slaw Readers Victorious

The Slaw Scavenger Hunt challenge Scavenger Hunt is complete – our prominent lawyer from Toronto has won, but a brand new contestant got the last 2 items.

The last two items were

The Laws of Manu, the oldest Indian legal code, which we mentioned had cited by the International Court of Justice in 1996 and in one of the major constitutional judgments of the Phillipines.

• The Consolato del Mare, drawn up in Catalunya around 1300, which brought together the customs of the sea, and established maritime law as an area quite distinct from national law. Story J cited it in Harden v. Gordon, 11 Fed.Cas. 480, 483, as did La Forest J in Q.N.S. Paper Co. v. Chartwell Shipping Ltd., [1989] 2 S.C.R. 683.

A full report on the results will follow shortly.
